lets not make some points closer to your base because then it will seem like capture the flag you should just have randomly all over the map like one maybe close but hard to defend.

domination games are fun lol, and both ideas seem both really good, perhaps if both turn out good, you could possibly make a single point, and triple point game mode, kind of like the ctf and 1-ctf modes you got, just puttin out an idea lol

yeah tho the maps with 3 points should have to need totaly diffrent maps becuase ctf maps are kinda small.

That is what testing will prove.  Some maps may be suited to single Domination points and others may be better suited to multiple points.  We shall see when this mode gets tested.

Well, that would be today, 20:00 GMT
It will be the first time trying this concept for AvP2, so I really have no idea how it will work.

so far as i see its good i just hate how it keeps spamming that the red team has domomated or somthing.

Bugs

-spamming bug the thing spamm the message over and over again once your on it.

-gets stuck on one team after a while and no one can change it.

-in freefly you can swoop in and capture the points this apilles to all game tybes.

Evac Bugs

-in freefly all flags can be taken.   ghost coming out of no where stealing all your preeicse flags.

-assault objects can be destoryed

-CTF flags are still there and can be captured for points.

-not really a bug but when ever you change character you go into freefly and its anyoing.

What a new twist on the way AvP is played
Domination will be a success.
There is constant action never gets boring.


·For sure a need to tighten up the Shotgun Pattern and kick it up a notch or 2 to make it more effective at close range.

·Flamethrower at a good power level, maybe increase throw distance and a wider pattern for us that can't aim

·Not sure about the announcements.. It trips every time a player hits the mark, this could be good to let us know one of us is there but can get annoying to some.

·I think the point score time should be decreased to keep the game moving this would increase the need for the team to work faster and as a team with set objective for each player.

·Sentries with the tracers are great, suggest maybe cutting down the amount of traces being fired. Was easy to take them out at long distance just followed the trace. Did I see them tracking???

·There should maybe be more than 1 objective on a map, (Maybe) was very hard to score points with 1 due to point timing.

Great Job looking forward to more game play..

Can you even see the effects of this with a full server 8 men on a side OMG!!!!!

i can just see facing fortress with 16 players on domination this mod was desigined for 4 to 12 players too little their isn't really a team too much the maps can't hold that many.

Well, I do have some good news:
- the message will not get spammed anymore
- in freefly you will not be able to trigger any objectives. Be it CTF, One Flag CTF or Domination.
- no more domination points in Evac. Basically no more non-evac stuff in evac: flags, domination points, assault objectives.

There are still 2 issues that have to be solved:
- blocking a trigger. I'll see if I can add some debuggig info, I am not sure what happened there.
- changing classes => freemode. I'll see if I can relax this a bit, so that only if you change teams you go in free mode.

And yes, I also liked domination. As opposed to CTF or 1FCTF, Domination is much more fast paced. This is as close to the original AvP2 it terms of pacing.

Ah, forgot to answer Hellraiser. Sorry about that.

You do have a point regarding the tracers. I remember setting them like one out of 5 bullets. Perhaps they need to be even less than that.

Regading the shotgun, I was thinking at reducing the sprad to half. I mean at the moment it is set as in the original game, at 60 degrees. When making Ballistic 2, I noticed that half of that (30 degrees) makes it a better weapon, without making it absurdly accurate. We'll try that value.

Toasty/Pyro seemed happy with the flamer. I mean each time we met, I died . But anyway, sure, we can try that.

You see, the good thing of having more people joining is that it is easier to test such changes.

Regarding the speed to which you get points, thats a tough one . Alien Grand Master suggested 2 minutes, while most likely you'd go for 30 seconds.
It's tougher to balance that, because if the domination areas are far in between, it will make it harder to reach them in time to conquer them from the enemy.
What I suggest instead is to play with a point limit of 30, and a time limit of 15 minutes. We need to tweak up these values, so I am counting on you next week

no make the time limit 30 or 40 becuase your game clock is unsaully fast.

Ok, we'll go for 30 seconds next time. Hmm ... just a question, would you like to have this interval configurable? I think we can make it configurable, but does it make sense to do it?

it should proably change from map to map like heretic it should be 30 seconds because its so small but with transmission intercept maybe it should be 1 minute and 30 seconds because it depends on the size of the map.

Hey, thanks once again for posting the videos.  I really enjoyed 'em.  Looks like the new 'Domination' mode is going to be great to play.

I noticed you got 'Evac' working within the mod, too.  As this version of 'Evac' uses 'Fortress' mod components, you may want to change the name to something else as it will cause confusion to people wanting to join a game, expecting to find themselves playing in a conventional 'Evac' game and getting the 'Resources differ' error.  Maybe you could call it something like 'Mixed Species Evac' or 'MS Evac' for short where appropriate in the multiplayer menus.

I also noticed that some of the spawn points may need to be rotated to face players away from walls and toward Objectives.

By the way, did you finish that Humvee model?  It would be sweet to have those unimog trucks replaced with that model.  We'll have to at the very least apply a Blocker to the truck on the road in 'GCF'.

Overall, it's looking good.  The 2 new modes will bring the number of available modes up to 6.  That's gotta be enough gameplay packed in there to keep anybody happy.

Agree on shorter time for heretic, nobody made points maybe even shorter…. but for the others that have 2 objective it takes time to get to the opposite objective.

question: In a map that has 2 objectives do BOTH have to be in control by the same team before the time counter starts...?

Option: on making it configurable, maybe for Beta testing so you can tweak the timing...BUT for release people screwing with the concept and the overall challenge of the game... think is unwise.
Once we agree on timing ...so be it...

No, each point brings one score point per minute.

You want to win faster? Capture and maintain all points

But, remember: each captured location will cough up a point per minute, since each was captured. So if you capture A at 12:00:00 and B at 12:00:30, A gives up a point at 12:01:00, 12:02:00 etc and B at 12:01:30, 12:02:30 and so on.
